Hello! I’m Dr. Finnerty, and I want you to feel at home at our practice. I love dentistry because it is always changing with new products, procedures and technology. I am making a difference in people’s lives, improving their dental health and providing a great smile! I have been practicing dentistry since 1974, and consider my long-term patients part of my family. When people come to see me, I get to catch up on their lives and families.
For my education, I first graduated from Providence College in 1965, then completed the program at Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1969. I was also a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, and completed a dental internship at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. I also spent two years in the Navy as a dentist in Newport News, VA. In addition to these experiences, I taught at Georgetown University Dental School from 1975 to 1988. I feel it is important to help those in need, and I volunteer on a monthly basis at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic to treat underpriviliged patients.
I know how important it is to keep abreast of new products and technology in dentistry. It helps me deliver better care to my patients. For this reason, I continually meet all my yearly continued education requirements for the Academy of General Dentistry. Beyond that, I also take six extra courses per year.
In our office we have fun every day and laugh a lot! We also really care about all our patients and work hard to provide excellent dentistry. I hope you’ll join our family of patients soon.
